This important procedure will allow us to distinguish between truancy and unavoidable absence and help keep your child safe. Holidays in term time IMPORTANT INFORMATION
At The Hollins we anticipate that parents would wish to avoid taking holidays during term time to prevent disruption to their child’s learning. From September 2013 new government legislation says that NO holidays may be granted by schools in term time. Any holidays taken in term time may lead to the parents being fined and the child marked as having unauthorised absences.
From September 2013 the headteacher may only grant absence from school in ‘exceptional circumstances’. Any requests for absence should be submitted by letter to the school.
