Science Club
Science club is about to start running again and will be bigger and even better than before. It will run on a Friday 3-4pm in Week 2 starting on Friday 11th March 2011. Our activities will include talks from scientists including:
- a paranormal psychologist,
- exploring the night sky,
- investigating chemical reactions,
- dissections (not of people!)
- solving global problems by using your inventing skills.
It is open to all year groups and you can pick and choose which projects you would like to get involved with. Year 11s might like to come to a session on Chemistry to revise for exams and get a taste of AS level Chemistry. We will be running a suggestion box system to try and give everyone the opportunity to investigate their particular interest. There is literally something for everyone.
Science Busking
Science Busking is a fantastic and fun way of communicating and having a go at science. Presenters will have the opportunity to demonstrate how science is involved in every part of life. Science Busking will be taking place at lunchtimes every day during National Science and Engineering Week (14-18 March). Be part of the audience and find out how to make a hole in your hand with no pain, be part of human origami, unravel a rope trick and many more hands-on activities. In order to run the event I need at least ten volunteers so if you like to be centre of attention and like to perform please come along and have a go.
