What if ……………………… a pupil does not bring their planner to a lesson? Here a subject teacher would question the pupil and also refer the matter to the Form Tutor in case a similar pattern may be in danger of developing across a range of subjects. The Form Tutor will liaise with the Year Co-ordinator who would seek to work with the support of parents in tackling the matter. ……………….homework is not completed by a deadline? The subject teacher will in the first instance seek to put the matter right on a one-to-one basis with the pupil in question but may make a referral to the Head of Department if necessary. In rare instances where a problem still remains, the Year Co-ordinator would then notify parents of the problem. …………… as a parent, you don’t think that enough homework is being set in a particular subject indicated on the homework/coursework timetable. Please contact Mrs. Holden (Deputy Head) who will investigate the matter with the Head of Department of the subject concerned in the hope of being able to resolve the matter to your satisfaction. ………… as a parent, you think that too much homework is being set in a particular subject on the homework/coursework timetable? Again please contact Mrs. Holden (Deputy Head). Please note that we are keen to ensure that a full and continuous programme of homework/coursework is set and regularly monitor the setting of homework within subject teams. In conclusion, the ultimate aim of setting homework in partnership with parents is to enable all pupils to achieve their full potential at The Hollins Technology College. |
