Pupils - parents - school
Pupils and parents are requested to sign a home - school agreement which clarifies the high standards we expect from all of our pupils. Ofsted indicates that schools and pupils perform at their best when rules on behaviour and respect are applied consistently. The Close involvement of parents, pupils and school is vital to this.
Hollins Technology College agrees to:-
- establish a Code of Conduct which provides a secure and caring environment;
- provide opportunities for your child to become a valued member of the school community;
- provide a broad and balanced curriculum to meet the needs of your child;
- strive for high standards of work and behaviour by building good relationships and by
developing a sense of responsibility; - keep you informed about general school matters and, in particular, your child’s progress;
- be welcoming and offer opportunities for you to become involved in the school’s community;
- communicate with parents and students in a professional and courteous manner at all times.
The responsibilities of the parent/guardian are to:
- ensure that my child attends school regularly, punctually and with the correct materials;
- inform school about any concerns or problems which might affect my child’s work or
behaviour; - support school policies and guidelines for behaviour, including detention, and mobile phones;
- support my child in homework and other opportunities for learning at home;
- attend meetings and Parents’ Evenings to discuss my child’s progress;
- support my child’s involvement in the wider community of the school;
- communicate with school in a courteous manner at all times.
The responsibilities of the pupil are to:
- attend school regularly and on time;
- wear the full school uniform and be smart and tidy in appearance;
- use and complete the Student Planner;
- do all my classwork and homework to the best ability and with great care;
- be polite, helpful and caring to others;
- behave responsibly in the classroom and around the school;
- respect the school environment and its community.
